1 - Temple of the tooth relic.

The Sri Dalada Maligawa, which is located in Kandy, Sri Lanka, is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the world. It is believed to house the tooth relic of the Buddha, which is said to have been brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century AD.

The Temple of the Tooth is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists from all over the world. The golden canopy, or “Vadahitina Maligawa,” is a notable feature of the temple, as it covers the inner shrine where the tooth relic is kept.

In addition to the tooth relic, the temple complex also includes several other buildings, shrines, and museums. The complex is known for its stunning architecture, which features intricate carvings, beautiful paintings, and colorful decorations.

The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is an elephant conservation and breeding center located in Pinnawala, Sri Lanka. It was established in 1975 with the goal of providing care and protection to orphaned, abandoned, and injured elephants in Sri Lanka.

The orphanage is home to around 80 elephants, including several baby elephants that were born at the center. Visitors to the orphanage can observe the elephants from a safe distance as they go about their daily activities, such as bathing in the nearby river, playing with each other, and being fed.

3 - Peradeniya botanical garden.

The Botanical Gardens in Kandy are renowned for their beautiful flowers and trees; orchids in particular. The name Royal comes in because they were once upon a time only open to the Kandyan royalty. With 60 hectares of land, covering 2500 square feet, this is Sri Lanka’s largest and most impressive Botanical Gardens.

The Kandy Lake, also known as the Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk, is an artificial lake that was built in the 19th century by the last king of Kandy, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe. The lake was constructed to beautify the town and to provide water for the city’s inhabitants.

The Upper Lake Drive is a great place to take a leisurely stroll or a relaxing drive, and there are several picturesque spots along the way where visitors can stop and take in the scenery.
